Monitoring of a mash filter with differential pressure measurement.
Monitoring of a mash filter with differential pressure measurement. What is measured and for what reason:
The differential pressure is used to prevent the filter from blocking due to high filtration speed. Also channel building can be detected if the differential pressure declines. To find the right speed is very important to run the system with a high yield. Why is it special:
A very fast and reliable measurement is needed, in order to react quickly. There is no second chance, if the filtration failed for one brew. The process runs at approximately 80°C. There is high humidity in the room when the filter opens and the spent grains are discharged. How can it be solved best:
Direct measurement can be done with a differential pressure transmitter. Also two single sensors, linked with a fast control system are used. For more information: Endress+Hauser GmbH
