woensdag 20 juni 2007
The Dutch Minister for Economic Affairs, Mrs. Van der Hoeven, visited the young company Check-Points BV (CP) in Wageningen in relation to her introduction to the Food & Nutrition Delta (FND) innovation programme. CP have developed an innovative system to be able to rapidly and very selectively identify a range of bacteria. The first product of CP, which is marketed by DSM Nutritional product as Premi®Test Salmonella, allows their customers to further enhance the safety of their food products, by reducing the number of contaminations of Salmonella in their total food chain. As part of the FND innovation programme CP and their partners (DSM, Zebra BioSciences and Rikilt, the Dutch Institute for Food Safety) will further introduce this concept in the market. The partners will also develop the next generation of the Premi®Test Salmonella. The granted subsidy for this project amounts to approx. 1 million euro. The minister was very impressed with market opportunities of the system in the food industry.
