Conductivity measurement in CIP plants
Conductivity measurement in CIP plantsWhat is measured and for what reason:
CIP processes are used in nearly all food production plants. They are build of a variable number of tanks with cleaning agents. Pumps and heat exchanger are providing flow and temperature. CIP plants are controlled by flow speed, temperature and concentration. The conductivity is used to detect the phase shift between two media, but also to control the concentration of the cleaning agentsWhy is it special:
The process is mostly hot (around 90°C), caustic with standard concentration of about 2%, and acid below 0,8%. A fast response after the change of media results in a stable process. The conductivity changes with the temperature. For concentration measurement, the temperature needs to be compensated. How can it be solved best:
The Endress+Hauser Smartec S 132/134 and CLS 52/54 conductivity sensors are equipped with a full Peek sensor. The temperature compensation can be made as well with an internal or external sensor. Fast response time is the result. Calculation tables for the concentration can be included in the transmitter.Para más información: Endress+Hauser GmbH
