What is measured and for what reason:
In both inline mixing systems and in batching processes very accurate dosing of ingredients that are not conductive is needed. These flavors and essences are dosed in very small amounts, because of their high prices and their strong impact on the taste of the final product. Blending systems are constructed following the hygienic design.
Most of the ingredients that are blended in food or beverage applications are very good feed for microorganisms. CIP and SIP are standard processes. The process itself is mostly cold with the ability for condensation

Exact measurement is key in dosing and blending application. The flow meter not only needs to measure very accurately and the measured data is also used for quality control.
The Brix value in raw material and end product can be used to automatically adjust the blending.
