Bredel SPX hose pumps
Bredel Hose Pumps has launched two more SPX direct-coupled hose pumps. Building on the strengths of over 75,000 pump applications across many industries, the new SPX10, and SPX15 models offer improved durability, ease of maintenance and a 30% smaller footprint than previous pumps. They are designed to fit 10mm, 15mm and 20mm hoses respectively. At the heart of the Bredel SPX patented direct-coupled design is a strong, twin-bearing hub integrated into the pumphead. The rotor is supported by its own bearings, whereas with close-coupled pumps the forces have to be absorbed by the gearbox bearings. In addition, the coupling and its guard are eliminated.
The direct-coupled design results automatically in perfect alignment of the pumphead and drive. The greased-for-life pump bearings are incorporated into the cast-iron SPX pumphead, significantly reducing maintenance and set-up times. Also, uniquely, an innovative leakproof zone has been created between the pumphead bearings and the gearbox bearings.
Time to change the hose has also been significantly reduced in the two new pumps by much simpler hose clamping and flange design. This simplifies maintenance and cuts whole-life costs. All Bredel SPX series hose pumps conform to EHEDG and ATEX standards.
Bredel series hose pumps offer reliable, contamination-free metering and pumping to 80 cubic metres/hour and pressures of up to 16 bar. They have proved particularly successful in handling fluids that are abrasive, corrosive, have a high viscosity, are shear-sensitive or have a tendency to crystallize.
Hose pumps have no seals, valves, diaphragms, stators, glands or other costly hardware to replace – only the hose requires changing, which is a simple task.
Users in chemical processing, food processing, brewing, pharmaceutical production, paper, mining, water, waste treatment and other industries have already discovered the benefits and simplicity of hose pumps. Now the SPX10 and SPX15 provide even more choices to users.
